Maria João Maia Pinto de Castro completed her PhD in Computer Management, University of Minho, in 2005. For the last 25 years, she has been a lecturer at the School of Accounting and Administration of Porto. Her teaching activity focuses on the areas of Information Technology and Databases.
She works as a researcher at CEOS_PPorto and CEI_PPorto. She is part of the Program Committee of several International Conferences, namely the ICITED Conference, International Conference in Technology & Education, the Ibero-American Conference on Systems, Cybernetics and Informatics (CISCI) and the International Conference on Tourism, Technology and Systems (ICOTTS).
She is a member of the Scientific Council of the journal RISTI and of the international association, Portuguese Chapter of the Internet Society (ISOC PT). He is a member of the international association, “The Association of Cyber Forensics and Threat Investigators” and a member of the International Association HR.com.
She is the main examiner in the defense of master’s dissertations.
She is the supervisor of a master’s dissertation, in the Master in Digital Communication Advisory.
She is a reviewer of articles for indexed international technical-scientific journals and papers for international conferences with scientific commission.
She is responsible for the coordination of several UCs in the area of Accounting and Human Resources.
She prepares original texts to support several CUs.
Her main current scientific interests are: Computer Security and Learning Environments through Audiovisual Narratives and Communication.
