This line aims to promote research on Social Economy companies and social companies in general, as well as the social innovation mechanisms that can boost their promotion.

The group gathers a multidisciplinary team of researchers from several areas, such as Law, Accounting, Economics, Management, Marketing, Information Sciences and Sociology.

The work carried out by this research line comprises a wide range of scientific and extensive activities, both national and international, with special emphasis on the following topics: the legal regime of Social Economy entities, the labor and social security regime of the Social Economy, the tax regime of the Social Economy; the accounting regime of Social Economy entities; the strategic management of Social Economy entities; the management of human resources of Social Economy entities; the Public Policies and Social Economy; the Marketing of Social Economy entities, the Digital Transformation and Social Economy.

The Line is one of the tangible and visible results of the research that, over the last few years, has been carried out at ISCAP, and which has resulted in a significant network of contacts with similar institutions in other countries, especially in the European Union and Latin America. The researchers who integrate the team are in some of the most significant international networks in the social economy sector, such as CIRIEC — Centre International de Recherches et d'Information sur l'Economie Publique, Sociale et Coopérative; SGECOL - Study Group on European Cooperative Law, a Asociación Iberoamericana de Derecho Cooperativo, Mutual y de la Economía Social y Solidaria; IBECOOP - Instituto Brasileiro de Estudos em Cooperativismo, a Asociación Internacional de Derecho Cooperativo.

ISCAP is a member of the Euro-Latin American University Network in Social and Cooperative Economy (RULESCOOP), constituted by European and Latin American universities, which integrates consolidated research centers or groups in social and solidarity economy, being CEOS.PP Researchers responsible for the representation of the Institution.
