Abstract

Based on a brief literature review, this paper analyses the importance of gender diversity and its impact on organisational performance. It includes a search of Web of Science and Scopus for the years 2014-2024.The inclusion of different gender perspectives, initially treated as a social justice issue, is now recognised as an essential strategic element for business success. Research shows that teams with greater gender diversity perform better in decision making and problem solving - critical factors in today’s competitive environment. However, achieving balanced representation in leadership positions remains a challenge due to persistent cultural and structural barriers. It is concluded that promoting gender diversity is essential for organisational sustainability, requiring strategic gender equality policies and incentives to increase female representation in leadership positions.
