Digital Transformation - paradigm and challenges within organizations

The digital transformation and the search for new technologies and methods that optimize processes and contribute to better management of companies/organizations is driving innovation and creating new business models. Information tools and technologies are increasingly the focus and play a crucial role in the strategic vision that management has to face the new challenges and demands of an increasingly competitive and interconnected world. The digitalization of various processes is now an essential trend in the most diverse organizations.
The role that the COVID-19 pandemic has played in accelerating the digital transformation and transition and in the new business opportunities that have also been created is also discussed.
The last decade has seen an exponential increase in digital transformation, also driven by social networks. Digital marketing is also assuming a crucial role in the way companies/organizations advertise their products/services.
A case of digital transformation in a higher education institution is mentioned, referring to the importance that this process also has in this type of organization and how it is changing the paradigm and methodologies in teaching
This article also addresses the topic of preparing, strategizing and managing the digital transformation process in an institution, where the coordination of its implementation must come from the leadership, which is responsible for ensuring that this process guarantees better efficiency and effectiveness for the future of the organization.
