Electronic commerce (e-commerce) has grown at a rapid pace in recent years, but there is a new trend that is gaining ground in the market: quick-commerce (Q-commerce). The term translates into "fast commerce" and refers to purchases that are made in a matter of seconds.
The aim of this study is to understand what the logistical implications are for a retailer or company to be able to offer a Q-Commerce service to its consumers.
It is known that companies that use Q-Commerce to allow their customers to make purchases are faced with a series of challenges and opportunities that this whole issue raises, but what we want to understand is how this affects the logistics of each company. It is also very common, and a growing trend, for purchases to be picked up in a few minutes, instantly at the store, or even for the order to be received within a few hours of purchase at the location indicated by the buyer.
According to a study carried out by Lohariwala, P. (2021), Q-commerce is peaking in popularity among consumers, however, the author points out that this trend is changing the way companies think about and implement their sales and logistics strategies.
