What are the main challenges and advantages of implementing a Business Intelligence system?

This study deals with the process of implementing a business intelligence system. The focus of the study was to report on the implementation steps and identify the main advantages and challenges of this whole process. Based on scientific articles, publications in journals and consultation of information available online, it was possible to standardize the implementation of a business intelligence system from the planning and identification of objectives, through to the collection and processing of data and ending with the transformation of this data into useful information that can be easily consulted. This whole process brings with it a number of challenges for a company, from small companies with a limited budget for implementation, to large companies with a huge amount of data on different platforms and no integration between them. This study also takes a brief look at the main business intelligence software available on the market and its characteristics. The correct implementation of this type of system is a huge advantage for a company's success and prosperity. Business intelligence powers all of an organization's processes, from production, storage, employees, sales and results evaluation. This study is important to get an idea of the main processes involved in implementing a business intelligence system. Through this article, it is possible to get an idea of the main difficulties and advantages that a company will encounter when implementing it. In a constantly changing market and with increased competitiveness, it is important to make use of the information available in a company and gain an advantage over the competition, and this article can be useful for those who intend to implement a business intelligence system.
