  • Book of Abstracts of the III International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences
    2025

The Book of Abstracts presents a comprehensive overview of the diverse academic contributions showcased at the III International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences. With a central theme focused on the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping contemporary society, the volume compiles over 70 abstracts from global researchers across disciplines including education, law, social equity, linguistics, economics, culture, governance, and technology.

Keynote sessions set the tone with critical reflections on human-centered AI innovation, ethical frameworks, and linguistic adaptability in AI systems. These are followed by on-site and virtual presentations grouped into thematic clusters such as:

    • AI for Social Justice and Equity: Analyses range from the implications of AI on fundamental human rights and sustainable tourism to inclusive tax policies and the role of AI in the Global South. Legal, ethical, and governance perspectives are emphasized, particularly in developing country contexts.
    • AI in Education and Pedagogy: Contributions explore the integration of AI in classrooms, its impact on student writing, adaptive feedback systems, and the development of critical thinking. Both opportunities and challenges in enhancing teaching and learning practices through AI are interrogated.
    • Ethics, Governance, and Responsible AI: These sessions address algorithmic bias, opaque decision-making, digital sovereignty, and the growing influence of private AI actors. Discussions emphasize accountability, inclusive governance, and legal frameworks to ensure ethical AI use.
    • Cultural Diversity and Linguistics: Presentations investigate AI in translation, subtitling, and cross-cultural communication, offering insights into how generative AI tools handle linguistic nuance and cultural adaptation.
    • AI in Business, Information Systems, and Society: Topics include AI's role in organizational decision-making, digital commerce, HR management, public service transparency, and smart urban planning. Case studies span diverse geographic and institutional contexts.
    • Interdisciplinary Studies in AI and Humanity: Research in this section explores AI’s implications in auditing, law, public policy, and digital platforms, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, inclusion, and resilience.

The publication highlights emerging research frontiers, critical debates, and innovative applications of AI technologies within the broader domains of humanities and social sciences.

Collectively, these abstracts reflect a multidisciplinary effort to assess, challenge, and responsibly shape AI's evolving role in contemporary society.

  • Book of Abstracts | Digital Perspectives & Global Narratives in New Media Communication
    2025

The Digital Perspectives & Global Narratives in New Media Communication conference provided a dynamic forum for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to explore the evolving intersections of digital media, communication, and global narratives. This collection of abstracts showcases a wide spectrum of interdisciplinary research addressing critical issues in new media, from digital activism and political discourse to cultural identity, gender representation, and technological advancements in education and accessibility.
The conference’s plenary sessions set the stage by addressing key transformations in political activism through digital data, as well as the reconfiguration of traditional media production in a globally interconnected landscape. These discussions underscored the role of digital media in shaping public discourse, challenging power structures, and redefining storytelling practices.
Parallel sessions focused on various thematic panels, each highlighting unique contributions. The impact of social media on political trust, counter-narratives in contemporary media, and the role of digital storytelling in conflict and identity politics were extensively examined. Other panels focused on ethical dilemmas in digital spaces, including representation in media, the commodification of identity, and the interplay between AI and cultural heritage interpretation.
The conference also provided critical insights into gender representation in new media, with discussions on feminist digital activism, personal branding, and the visual portrayal of women in cinema and social media. Furthermore, significant attention was given to the transformative role of digital education, including AI-driven learning models, virtual reality in teaching, and digital accessibility for marginalized communities, such as visually impaired learners and Deaf signers.
A key highlight was the exploration of translation and language innovation in digital contexts, with research on audiovisual translation challenges, AI-assisted interpretation of cultural symbols, and the role of social media in promoting linguistic diversity. Finally, global dialogue was enriched by discussions on think tanks’ digital communication strategies, cross-cultural advertising narratives, and the democratization of art through participatory digital media.
This Book of Abstracts reflects the conference's commitment to advancing knowledge in the digital age, fostering critical discussions on the socio-political, cultural, and ethical dimensions of new media. By bridging diverse perspectives across disciplines and geographies, the conference underscored the importance of digital narratives in shaping contemporary communication landscapes and global interactions.
