Aims and Objectives:

The SciArt project proposes the development of a series of activities in Cultural Heritage. The rationale stems from the fact that heritage can be studied as both materials using scientific (archaeometrical) methods and as a product with cultural, historical, aesthetic and political functions in the present and future. As such, heritage is also connected to local and national narratives that in turn influence the formation of a sense of identity both locally and at a European level.

Overall Objective:

  • The main goal for designing the SciArt approach was to achieve an equal role of STEM and Arts in all the development phases and outcomes.

Specific Objectives:

  • Objective 1 (WP2): SciArt project aims to develop an innovative, inclusive STEAM approach to Cultural Heritage that combines inquiry-based approaches, Science education, Arts education, Technology, and Cultural Heritage studies.
  • Objective 2 (WP3): SciArt project aims to design the SciArt activities (including the educational resources needed) and the SciArt training course and educational platform.
  • Objective 3 (WP4): SciArt project aims to build capacity among all the consortium staff members (researchers, Museum experts and teachers) on the different aspects of the SciArt approach and train teachers from the implementation countries.
