
The Centre for Intercultural Studies (CEI) at ISCAP–P.PORTO participated in the 5th Congress of the Portuguese and European Networks of Cultural Studies (RNEC/ECSN), Culture and Intervention: From Signifying Practices to Future Scenarios, held on 2–3 July 2026 at Leiria Castle and the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic University of Leiria.
CEI was represented by Carina Cerqueira, who presented the paper “Gender, Power and Performative Narratives in Literary and Digital Cultures”, and by Clara Sarmento, who presented “Ecologies of Resistance: Decolonising Cultural Heritage through the Lens of the Ria de Aveiro”.
In addition to presenting her paper, Clara Sarmento took part in the roundtable “(Re)imagining Cultural Studies: Between Innovations and Future Scenarios”, contributing to discussions on the current challenges and future directions of the field. At the conclusion of the congress, she also represented P.PORTO at the final meetings of the Portuguese and European Networks of Cultural Studies, where participants discussed strategic priorities and approved the Leiria Charter.
