
Clara Sarmento, director of the Centre for Intercultural Studies, is one of the guest keynote speakers at the 5th International Symposium ‘Communication and Culture: Approaches to Memory and Oral History’, which will take place from 5 to 7 May 2025 at Mackenzie Presbyterian University in São Paulo, Brazil.
During the event, Clara Sarmento will present the paper “Intercultural Memories between Centres and Peripheries: A Reflection on Concepts, Practices and Dialogues”, as part of the programme for the Closing Table on the theme of “Memory, Interculturality and Migration Processes”, which will take place on 7 May 2025, from 7pm to 9.30pm (BR).
The 5th International Symposium “Communication and Culture: Approaches to Memory and Oral History” is centred around the challenges of interculturality and seeks to promote a space for reflection and dialogue on the relationships between memory, orality, communication and culture in the context of contemporary migratory and intercultural processes.
