Director of CEI Appointed as P.PORTO Representative to ARCHE

The landscape of cultural heritage research is evolving: digitalization, sustainability, innovation, and international cooperation are now key priorities. And the Centre for Intercultural Studies (CEI) at ISCAP–P.PORTO is at the forefront of this transformation.

Clara Sarmento, researcher and director of CEI, has been appointed by the Presidency of P.PORTO as their representative to ARCHE – the Alliance for Research on Cultural Heritage in Europe.

ARCHE is a European initiative aimed at creating a collaborative network of researchers, professionals, institutions, and citizens to develop strategies and R&D projects in the field of cultural heritage, with a special focus on topics such as climate change, digital curation, open access, and sustainable growth.

👉 Clara Sarmento’s appointment aims to lead the process of P.PORTO’s accession to ARCHE and coordinate collaboration between research centres across the University’s Schools that share this strategic interest.

This nomination is a clear recognition of the work carried out by the Centre for Intercultural Studies (CEI) at ISCAP–P.PORTO, and reinforces the Centre’s active role in building bridges between national research and the major international challenges in the cultural domain.

It also represents a concrete opportunity for researchers and centres from across P.PORTO’s Schools to engage in an international consortium that is reimagining the future of European cultural heritage.

🌐 A strong step toward more connected, innovative, and impactful research.
