The Presidency of the Polytechnic of Porto (P.PORTO) has appointed Clara Sarmento, researcher and director of the Centre for Intercultural Studies (CEI), to join the P.PORTO Gender Equality Committee.
This Committee is part of the P.PORTO Gender Equality Plan, a strategic document that implements the measures set out in the Action Plan “Equity, Diversity and Inclusion 2022–2026.” The Plan defines as priorities the promotion of gender equality, inclusion, and diversity—principles regarded as essential to the institution’s identity and functioning.
Under the supervision of the P.PORTO Presidency, the Gender Equality Committee is tasked with monitoring the implementation of the Plan’s measures, proposing actions, and evaluating practices that contribute to a more equitable, participatory, and diversity-respectful academic and professional environment.
Clara Sarmento’s participation in this Committee strengthens the Centre for Intercultural Studies’ commitment to issues of equity, citizenship, and cultural diversity, which are central to its research and academic outreach activities.
