Coordinating Professor at the Polytechnic School of Education of Porto (ESE/PPorto), President of the Technical-Scientific Council of ESE/PPorto, Vice-President of the Technical-Scientific Council (from 2009/10 to 2016/17), Director of the degree in Foreign Languages and Cultures (since 2007/08). PhD from the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Porto, in Literature (African Literatures in English, French and Portuguese). Integrated member of CEI – Center for Intercultural Studies of ISCAP (Polytechnic of Porto), since 2006. Collaborating member of InED – Center for Research and Innovation in Education at ESE. His teaching research focuses mainly on the following areas:

  • African literature, from a comparative literature perspective;
  • children’s literature in English (Use of picturebooks in the teaching of English in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education).
  • intercultural communication and education.

Her teaching activity includes, in addition to the research areas listed above, the teaching of curricular units related to the various literatures and cultures in English (North American, Nigerian, South African, Australian, New Zealand).
