Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism and Communication Studies at the UAB since 2003. PhD in Journalism and Communication, UAB (Extraordinary Doctorate Award 2016). I have participated in 19 research projects funded by regional, national, and European competitive public calls related to public communication, gender perspective, the analysis of citizenship in the media, and new forms of democratic participation based on the social web and new technologies. The results of this research have been published in 54 scientific articles in international indexed journals such as “Journalism Practice”, “Information, Communication & Society” “Identities”, or “Critical Studies in Media Communication”, and in 28 collaborations or book chapters, including 1 by Routledge. They have also been presented at more than 40 international conferences, on several occasions as guest speaker (EuroPCom, 2011, ECREA 2010 and others), including the IAMCR (2019), ICA (2013), IAMCR (2009) and ECREA (2008; 2012) conferences. In relation to the international projection, between 2008 and 2012 I was Chair of the Women’s Network of ECREA and I have been coordinator in Spain of the international project “Global Media Monitoring 2015” and coordinator in the Mediterranean-Spain of the “GMMP 2020” of WACC. I was a visiting researcher at the City University of London (2012). I was also invited as an expert in the “The EU Mutual Learning Programme in Gender Equality” of the European Commission (Paris, 2018) to define public policies related to gender equality. I am currently Vice-Dean of Students, Faculty and Mobility of the Faculty of Communication Studies at UAB.
