Rogério Miguel Puga has a PhD in Anglo-Portuguese Studies (2007) and was a professor at ISEC (Lisboa, 2000-2005), an Assistant Professor at the University of Macau (2007-2009), a Visiting Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (2011-2012), and is currently an Assistant Professor at CETAPS (Centre for English, Translation and Anglo-Portuguese Studies) of FCSH of the New University of Lisbon, where he also used to teach, as well as a collaborator in the Overseas History Centre of that same University and in the Centre for Comparative Studies of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon. He is an editor of the European Journal of Macao Studies and subject editor for the Romance Studies Journal (Maney Publishing, University of Swansea, United Kingdom).

He has published countless articles, chapters, and books in the fields of Anglo-Portuguese Studies (Anglophone and Lusophone Literatures and History), the History of Macau, and the Portuguese and British empires, among which:
