The SHiFT Young Researchers Council highlighted by the COST Association for its support of young researchers

The EU COST Association – European Cooperation in Science and Technology has selected a set of best practices developed within its research networks, highlighting initiatives that have exceptionally promoted the support and integration of young researchers within the European science and innovation landscape.

Among the initiatives identified is the SHiFT COST Action “Social Sciences and Humanities for Transformation and Climate Resilience” CA21166, particularly through the work carried out by its Young Researchers Council (YRC). Ana Margarida Silva, a researcher at the Intercultural Studies Centre (CEI) of ISCAP-P.Porto, is one of the leaders of the Young Researchers Council (YRC) who has made a significant contribution to the representation and participation of early-career researchers in the international context.

Among the various activities developed by Ana Margarida Silva and her partners within the Young Researchers Council (YRC), the EU COST Association especially highlights the “SHiFT Young Researchers Council (YRC) Podcast Series” (here) as a platform for sharing, reflection, and scientific dialogue for young scientists and academics. More than just a dissemination space, the podcast has established itself as a safe and collaborative environment, fostering connections between researchers and strengthening the sense of community beyond conventional academic dynamics.

This international recognition highlights the impact of Ana Margarida Silva’s work in developing inclusive and collaborative research networks, benefiting the training and recognition of new generations of researchers.
