Several factors influence entrepreneurial activity, there’s been a solid effort from most European countries to promote physical structures, governmental entrepreneurship programs, internal market dynamics, among others. What about Entrepreneurial culture? We know now (there’s been an increase in research in this field) there’s an association between cultural values and entrepreneurial beliefs and intentions, therefore understanding the impact of organizational and national culture on entrepreneurial culture it’s relevant for any entrepreneur, and this knowledge should be applied to his specific project and be part of his business model.

The Speaker:

Marco Lamas – Post-doc in Entrepreneurship Education at the Universidade do Porto, PhD in Education and Entrepreneurship at Universidad Santiago de Compostela, Graduated in International Relations at Universidade Fernando Pessoa. Currently working on a PHD in Economics and Business at Universidade Santiago de Compostela.

He is an Invited Senior Lecturer, teaching Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Education Courses at ISCAP – Porto Polytechnic (P.Porto), where he coordinates the Post-Graduation Course in Business Creation and Development, Universidade Lusófona do Porto and in other institutions. He advises Master dissertations and is often a member of Master and PhD exams. Participates assiduously in international scientific conferences, presenting articles and as a member of the scientific committee. He is Editor and Reviewer of scientific journals.

He is a research member of the Center for Intercultural Studies (CEI), the Center for Organizational and Social Studies of the Polytechnic of Porto (CEOS.PP), both from the ISCAP of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP) , the Institute of Literature and Tradition Studies (IELT) of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences (FCSH / NOVA) of Universidade Nova and the ISVOUGA Research and Internationalization Unit (U3Is), in which he coordinates the research line “Entrepreneurship and Business strategy”.

He contributes regularly in both business and university environments at national and international level. He is a business coach certified by the European Coaching Association (ECA), a business consultant and trainer certified by the Employment and Vocational Training Institute (IEFP) and by the Educational Scientific Council of Continuing Education (CCPFC) in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Management and Strategy. He is a teachers’ trainer (Entrepreneurship). He regularly writes opinion articles to various magazines, newspapers, and blogs. He is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences as well as a jury member in business ideas competitions.
