Intellectual Property and Terms of Use

The RCEJ provides open and free content, distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.

This encourages the use, distribution, and reproduction of published content without restrictions and in any medium. The RCEJ encourages authors to share their publications among institutional repositories and academic social media, as well as on their personal social networks, by citing the version published on the journal's website.

Open Science Policy

The journal upholds the principles of Open Science Communication, providing immediate free access to its content based on the premise that free availability of research to the public contributes to increased global knowledge exchange. Thus, all articles are open access, meaning they can be freely accessed by anyone, anywhere in the world, regardless of affiliation.

In other words, besides the academic community - namely those supported by funded institutions - policymakers, organizations in the social and solidarity economy, journalists, professionals, students and the public at large have unrestricted access to research papers. This increases the visibility of new work and enables its dissemination among a much wider audience than traditional subscription-based journals.

Open-access publishing also helps correct the information bias favouring the developed world, where institutions are more likely to afford subscriptions. The RCEJ aims to foster cooperation among peers and between these and society, abiding by the Diamond Open Access model, which guarantees permanent and open access to all published manuscripts.

Furthermore, the journal does not charge any publication fees, adhering to the principle of open access not only in terms of dissemination but also knowledge production.

Diversity Policy

The RCEJ is committed to promoting diversity and equity, namely in terms of ethnicity, race and gender, both in the composition of its editorial board and in the authorship of published issues. In pursuit of epistemic justice, the journal intentionally seeks to amplify varied disciplinary perspectives and voices from both the Global North and South.

The editorial team encourages publications to follow the Sex and Gender Equity in Research (SAGER) Guidelines, which provide instructions for reporting sex and gender information in study design, data analysis, and the interpretation of results.
